I came across Craig McKay's website when I was searching for a photographer to take some portrait photographs of me. I have never done anything like this before so was unsure as to exactly what I wanted from the photos. After looking through a few different sites I decided to email art24six as the photos stood out to me from the others. After sending the email I received a call to confirm a booking date for my photo shoot, flexible to a time which suited me, which was perfect as I have a young child.

I was extremely nervous to begin with as the photos I wanted were mainly underwear and nude shots. Craig suggested I have a friend with me to help with any makeup/hair or 'costume adjustments'. Apart from this having a friend there helped my confidence a little - and she wasn’t too shy to tell me when certain poses didn't look great! The photo shoot was done in my living room, and I preferred being able to do it at home, as other commitments meant it would have been difficult for me to travel to a studio; it also gave me the freedom of being able to go and get different outfits or props I wanted to use.

The shoot lasted around two hours and I was talked through the processes and different effects available to me, I didn't realise there were so many different lighting and angle options. Craig brought some of his work to show me and give me a better idea of exactly what I wanted. The time flew by, and after getting over my nerves at the beginning - I really enjoyed myself. Craig made me feel completely comfortable and was happy to go along with my suggestions for poses and shots, as well as giving his input - which produced some extremely good pictures! Being a professional photographer he had a better idea of what angles and positioning would work best which made me feel more relaxed as I was a bit unsure to begin with.

In my opinion the whole experience was so enjoyable, and I'm glad I had the confidence to make that first email. Craig kept in touch after the shoot and gave me regular updates on the progress of the photos. He came to see me not long after so we could discuss which ones I wanted to buy and airbrushing I wanted done! I ordered a CD of 20 images which I received soon after the shoot – but it was a hard choice narrowing it down! I was extremely pleased with the end result and was keen to show them off - I would recommend Craig McKay photography to friends and family as I feel he was extremely professional and the photographs speak for themselves.
